NOVEMBER CHAPBOOK CHALLENGE AND NAPOWRIMO

We’ve reached November and there is much going on in terms or our poetic pursuits. So if you are driven to the Chapbook Challenge at Poetic Asides, or participate in NaPoWriMo. we will be giving you all the time to complete these tasks, by ceasing operations here at Phoenix Rising Poetry Guild. It has been a good run and I appreciate all our loyal contributors. But our members have fallen away and it seems it’s time to finally give it the rest it deserves. Thank you all for your support and contributions to making this a fun endeavor. Hopefully, we’ll find each other somewhere out on the wonderful Web! It has been a privilege hosting your works. Continue to write on, and RIGHT ON!

  1. It HAS been a GREAT run, and there is nothing wrong in taking a new path to see what else is out there or putting your feet up for a well deserved rest. I think all artists, and poets alike, need to honor their spirit’s need to ebb and flow with the creative energy that drives them. THANK YOU for all you have done – and continue to DO for any of us who are lucky enough to stumble along your part of the path. ❤

  2. I agree with Patricia…it has, indeed, been a great run! Thank you, Walt, for your poetic inspirations…and encouragements. And thanks, too, to you and Marie, in the previous hosting of Poetic/Creative Bloomings. I truly do not believe I’d still be writing poetry today had I not had such a nurturing environment like PB to keep cultivating my newly-unearthed desire to write! It’s bittersweet…I’m sad to think that the weekly prompts will be no longer…but I’m so sweetly blessed by the friendships that will continue to grow in spite of it. Thank you for that.

    Muah!

  5. I have to agree with all the comments above. Great ride. Sure wish I could have done more, but life can get wicked from time to time, and it’s been that way for me lately. But, with God as my Guide, I’ve made it through. And I hope that He goes with each and everyone here.

    Walt, you and Marie are inspiring. Keep in touch through FB, and if either or both of you start anything else, let me know. God speed.

  6. Oh, my poetic partner in rhyme …

    I can’t thank you enough for the run we had together at Bloomings (all-too-short, and I’m so sorry for that), and for continuing to prompt and encourage the poetry world miraculously at our fingertips. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels like you have been our poet-in-chief for many years now – laughing in the face of health issues and life’s hitches, glitches, and worries. You are an amazing talent and tireless encourager – my buoy across the lake.

    ❤ (much)

  7. I won’t pretend that I’m not disappointed but things change and we must accept that. This has been one of my favorite spots in this blogging world to go to for challenges. I really enjoyed the form challenge you presented to us. Whew, a challenge it was! I’d like to think, through all the opportunities you’ve provided and the feedback from others, I’ve grown as a poet. Thanks Walt! I’ll look for you over at Poetic Asides.

  11. WALT

    When Walter writes,
    his passion flows upon the page;
    when Walter writes,
    his caring soulfulness excites
    a yen for love and tempers rage.
    I feel poetic gears engage
    when Walter writes.
